Originally from Turkey, Halime relocated to Bangalore five years ago and has since built a company that connects European retailers with ethical manufacturers across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
On the challenges of cross-border business
"The biggest challenge is not logistics or compliance — it is trust. Building trust with partners, suppliers, and clients across very different cultural and business contexts takes time and presence."
Halime attributes much of her network growth to the informal connections made through the expatriate business community in Bangalore — connections she hopes the EBC will continue to nurture and formalise.
